The Carrs is a parkland area that follows the River Bollin. It runs parallel with Hawthorne Lane. (You can get a better idea from the town map.)

There's a small car park at the Styal end of the Carrs; when full you could park at the mill; or you could always park on top of the sign. Click here to see this area in the wet.

Gorsey Road
Pownall Hall School is at one end of Gorsey Road.
It is a private school housed on the site of what was originally a 13th century manor house. It was built by James Pownall in the 1830's. In 1885 it was sold and became the home of Henry Boddington, of Boddington's Beer fame. Click on the picture to see the school's nameboard.
