Nether Alderley is to the South of Alderley Edge. It was largely owned by the Stanley family but the biggest landowner now is probably Astra Zeneca. Nether Alderley is most noted for the mill and the church.
Nether Alderley Mill is a 15th century water-powered corn mill now maintained by the National Trust.
Even older 14th century St Mary's Church is down a lane off the main road just opposite the mill. The adjacent Old Rectory is notable for once being the home of Neil and Christine Hamilton.
